According to TeamTalk, Leeds United director of football Victor Orta is set to try to recruit Wolves attacker Adama Traore this summer.
Traore, 26, has “made it clear to Wolves” that he will not be signing a new contract at Molineux when his current agreement expires at the end of the forthcoming 2022/23 season, according to the sports news website.
Tottenham are also reportedly interested in the Spain international, who spent the second half of the 2012/13 season on loan at Barcelona, while Wolves are willing to pay £20 million – or less – for the former Aston Villa man.
Traore might be considered as a substitute for Raphinha at Elland Road, according to TeamTalk, with the Brazilian linked with a move away from West Yorkshire.
No, thank you.
What is the connection between Traore and Leeds?
Because he was at Middlesbrough when Orta was in the boardroom on Teesside, it’s an obvious connection to make. However, the conjecture around a move to Elland Road for the Spaniard is monotonous and predictable.
It will not take place.
Even if Phil Hay or Sky Sports publicly stated that Leeds are interested in Traore, we would still reject him.
Why? Because he would be a huge step down from Raphinha and might be just as awful for the Whites as Helder Costa has been.
